On June 27th, Rodrigo, deputy dean of the FACAMP Academy in Campinas, Brazil, and Song Tianle, a professor of international relations, brought 12 students from the institute to Shanghai Silin Special Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. According to the memorandum of cooperation, Alnor will apply for patents in Brazil for the patented products owned by Silin, and use its favorable resources in the local area to provide all possible convenience and support for the research. Silin will develop a new aluminum alloy cable standard that meets the Brazilian grid requirements based on Brazilian cable standards. In order to make the cooperation progress smoothly, Silin will also send staff to Brazil to form a working group with Alnor to carry out a series of work.

On March 21st, 2014, the first assessment report of the life cycle of aluminum alloy 8000# of Chinese wire & cable industry (simply says LCA Report) was officially published in the Shanghai Cable Study institute.

The report said: the aluminum alloy 8000# cable and the copper cable with same electrical functions, for the seven characteristic indexes of cable products, except the potential value of land resource, the other six indexes (including the potential value of energy consuming, acidification, global warming, eutrophication, industry-water consuming and Chinese energy consuming) of aluminum alloy cable is better than the related indexes of copper cables. The report shows that the bad influence on the environment by the aluminum alloy 8000# cable is better than the copper during the whole life cycle. The report, analyzing the aluminum alloy cable from the view of the science technology theory and environment issue, provides the theory support for environmental improvement.
